Industry
Sofyx is a management platform for accounting firms that brings CRM, production, invoicing, dashboards and AI into a single tool, built by an accountant for accountants.
The product was already powerful, but the brand did not reflect its ambition and the interface had grown module by module. Each area solved its own problems in its own way.
My mission was a revamp: sharpen the brand positioning and rebuild the design system around common patterns, so the whole platform feels like one product.
Process & Approach
I began with an audit of both the brand and the product:
Brand audit: Reviewing messaging and visuals against competitors in the accounting software market
UI inventory: Collecting every table, form, filter and card across CRM, production and invoicing
Pattern analysis: Finding repeated needs that were solved differently in each module
Stakeholder workshops: Aligning founders and developers on positioning and priorities
The Challenge
Sofyx faced several challenges that needed to be addressed together:
Unclear positioning: The brand did not clearly say who the product was for or why it was different
Inconsistent UI: Similar tasks looked and behaved differently from one module to another
Slow delivery: Without shared patterns, every new feature started from a blank page
Dense data: Firm owners needed clear, actionable dashboards rather than raw numbers

Solution
Brand Positioning
We repositioned Sofyx as the steering tool for accounting firms, created by a peer. The visual identity was refined to feel confident, modern and professional.

Design System Revamp
The design system was rebuilt around common patterns:
Shared patterns: One way to filter, sort, edit and bulk-act on data across every module
Unified components: Tables, client cards, status chips and KPI widgets built once and reused
Tokenized theming: Tokens that keep the marketing site and the app visually aligned
Documentation: Usage guidelines that help developers ship consistent screens faster
Key Takeaways
This project reinforced several principles:
Patterns over pages: Solving a need once and reusing it everywhere is what makes a product feel whole
Brand and product together: Positioning lands better when the interface delivers the same promise
Systems speed teams up: Shared components cut the time from idea to shipped feature
Clarity builds trust: Accounting professionals adopt tools that make complex data readable
The Sofyx revamp shows how aligning brand and design system turns a feature-rich tool into a coherent platform firms are proud to use.
